O'Flynn On Comeback Trail At Ballindenisk
|
THOUGH
hospitalised for weeks after a serious accident last year, Kildare-based
Event rider Jane O'Flynn proved that she is unequivocally on the
comeback trail, after a second place in today's (Sunday) three-star
event at Ballindenisk, Cork.
Recently
long-listed for the 2004 Olympics, O'Flynn was in a critical condition
in Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital last August after being airlifted
from a One-Day Event in Richill, Co. Armagh, following a fall.
In
a critical condition for many days, Jane missed her possible place
on Ireland's European Championship team in 2003, but during the
last eight months has fought her way back to fitness, and this weekend
produced an impressive score on <Kilnadeema Star> at Ballindenisk,
just 12 penalty points behind the three-star winner, Joroslav Hatla,
from the Czech Republic, riding <Kyrenejennalla's Boy>.
Ireland's
Sarah Daly on <Test Flight> was third today.
