ESS Solve Livestock Dilemma

Specialist equestrian breakdown service provider, Equestrian Support Services (ESS) has made one customer very happy indeed. Staff at ESS's call centre in Dorchester, were surprised to receive a call from a lady with an unusual dilemma: 129 prize-winning sheep and a custom-made livestock vehicle were making it difficult for Mrs Phillippa Ball to find a breakdown assistance company, willing to provide her with breakdown cover.

The majority of breakdown assistance companies had refused to cover the vehicle, which had been specially made to include living quarters and an area for the sheep.

Mrs Ball commented, " I had been searching since September for breakdown cover, it is essential for me because I travel so frequently to shows. My husband passed away last year and before this, I used to drive the caravan and my husband would follow with a sheep trailer. I have found it very difficult getting to shows since this and I'm pleased that now I have found the right vehicle that I am also now covered. A lot of people don't realise that when you have a puncture in this vehicle you cannot just fix it yourself- you have to have an assistance company do it. I was just so pleased that ESS could help."

ESS' Managing Director Nick Hamilton commented, "Although we specialise in equestrian breakdown assistance, we also cover a wide range of livestock. With the amount of travelling Mrs Ball has to do, breakdown cover is essential. The problem of finding appropriate breakdown cover is more common than many people think. Breaking down with livestock in transit can be extremely problematic and hazardous, ESS is the only company in the UK which specialises in this type of breakdown cover. We are extremely pleased to have been able to help Mrs Ball and many others experiencing similar difficulties"
