Big
Money Draw For Stars Of The Future
Juniors get their second chance to ride for big money when Hickstead
repeats its Pony Masters class at the British Jumping Derby Meeting
(June 3-6).
The
Hickstead Pony Masters, successfully introduced last year, gives
the under-16s an opportunity to ride and compete in the famous International
Arena as well as earn a share in the £7,500 prize money -
the richest prize for juniors in Europe.
Competition
begins with two classes in rings two and three designed to whittle
entries down to 20 for Saturday's third leg in the International
Arena and then to 10 for Sunday's final, where the winner takes
£2,500.
"This
is a class where the prize money is attractive, but for the really
keen juniors an equal attraction will be to compete in the International
Arena in front of a large audience," said Hickstead owner Douglas
Bunn. "We could be watching future winners DFS Derby, which
follows shortly afterwards in the same arena."
