HorseTV Media Group Launches 24/7 HorseTV iChannel
on Internet
Houston,
TX - HorseTV Media Group launched the HorseTV iChannel on the
Internet on April 26th in an expansion of its current television
operations. The 24/7 equestrian programming service will be available
on
a subscription basis to the rapidly growing universe of horseenthusiasts
with access to broadband Internet connections.
The
iChannel is a companion to HorseTVs current national television
broadcast schedule and is the companys next step toward
its plannedlaunch
later this year of a dedicated full-time equestrian network.
People
have been talking about the convergence of television and the
Internet for a long time, said Sally Lasater, President
of HorseTV Media Group, and in response to constant viewer
requests, we decided to take advantage of our existing infrastructure
and the improvements in technology to make our television service
available via the Internet. To get our programming, continued
Lasater, all you need is a broadband connection and a computer.
Push your chair back, put your feet up, and voila! HorseTV is
available anytime
you want to watch.
Programming
will include documentaries, competitions, and educational and
instructional series. Initially, each days schedule will
include a repeating four to six hour block of programs which will
cycle throughout the week. Programming will follow a traditional
format, with commercial messages inserted during and between individual
shows. In the coming months, the company plans to expand the capabilities
of the iChannel to
include programs on a view-on-demand basis.
Future
additions to the service include a weekly equestrian news program,
something that has been regularly requested by viewers, as well
as live broadcasts from horse shows, competitions, conventions,
clinics, auctions and other real-time equestrian events. HorseTV
Media Group has already begun working with equestrian organizations
and associations
to make this a reality.
