Continues Equine Veterinary Funding at Royal Dick
|
The
ILPH (International League for the Protection of Horses) Council
has announced a further 3 year's funding of two equine posts based
at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, when
the present contracts expire in August this year.
The funding, worth over £100,000 over the next three years,
is for an Advanced Clinical Scholarship in Equine Orthopaedics and
a Grass Sickness Nurse.
Comments David Mountford, Director of Operations at the ILPH, "One
of the ways in which the ILPH aids equine welfare is the funding
of veterinary posts in key areas.
"We are extremely glad to be able to renew the funding of the
Grass Sickness Nurse post - intensive nursing is still the only
successful therapy for chronic grass sickness cases.
"The Advanced Clinical Scholarship, which will be awarded to
Emma Jones, is extremely exciting as it combines clinical work and
teaching of students with the development of a Rehabilitation Study
Group based at the ILPH's Belwade Centre in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire.
