Race Evening Unqualified Success
|
The ILPH (International League for the Protection of Horses) Charity
Race Evening at Royal Windsor Racecourse on Monday 20 May helped
to raise valuable funds for the charity.
Invited guests dug deep into their pockets to bid at the auction
and buy raffle tickets - all helping to raise the staggering total
for the evening of just over £65,000.
A dazzling array of generously donated items and promises were on
offer at the auction plus a magnificent selection of raffle prizes.
The evening saw top bids of £5,000 each for a bronze of a
galloping cheetah and a special edition ILPH Bob the Cob rocking
horse, kindly donated by sculptor, Mark Coreth and rocking horse
makers, Stevenson Brothers.
Comments Roly Owers, ILPH Director of Support, "We are delighted
at the success of the evening and the amount of money raised, all
of which would not have been possible had it not been for the kind
support of our sponsors and those who donated so generously to the
auction and raffle.
He continued, "£65,000 is an awful lot of money in anybody's
estimation - this amount would allow us to recover, rehab and rehome
a further 21 equine welfare cases."
