USA Equestrian
USA Equestrian Names Charles Crabtree For Medal Of Honor

Charles R. Crabtree of Simpsonville, Kentucky has been named as the first 2002 recipient of USA Equestrian's Pegasus Medal of Honor.

Crabtree and his wife, famed equestrian Helen K. Crabtree, opened their stable in 1959 and the duo went on to earn 75 World Championship titles, including CH Yorktown's 1966 World's Champion Five Gaited Two-Year-Old with Charles Crabtree aboard. In 1989 this husband and wife team was inducted into the World Championship Horse Show Hall of Fame.

The Pegasus Medal of Honor was created as an annual award to recognize individuals who have exhibited outstanding service to horses and the sport. Through their dedication, recipients of the Pegasus Medal of Honor have attracted people to the sport and contributed to horse sports by advancing its popularity. Charles R. Crabtree's superior service will be acknowledged with a commemorative USA Equestrian Pegasus Medal of Honor to be formally presented during the USA Equestrian Annual Meeting, January 15-19, 2003, in Lexington, Kentucky.
