jumper horses and riders on the West Coast will compete in the $25,000
Lexus Grand Prix, at the 58th Annual Del Mar National Horse Show on
Thursday, May 1, at 7 p.m.
The $25,000 Lexus Grand Prix is a qualifying event designed to eliminate
all but the top contenders who'll move on to a final Grand Prix competition.
The 30 best horses and riders who negotiate the Lexus course cleanly
and within the allowed time will go on to compete in the Del Mar National
Horse Show's premier event, the $75,000 HBO Grand Prix of Del Mar
presented by Budweiser, an AGA event on Saturday, May 3, at 7 p.m.,
in Del Mar Arena.
In previous years, the Lexus Grand Prix has attracted in excess of
60 entries, making it the largest field of Grand Prix riders in California
and the most competitive class on the Pacific Coast Circuit. Spectators
will be treated to Olympic-caliber show jumping in this highly competitive
class.

this year' s course.
