WHAT
The eighth qualifier of the FEI Eventing World Cup will take place
on 10 and 11 May at the Chatsworth International One Day Event
(GBR).
The
Eventing World Cup is organised as a three-star level CIC (One
Day Event) qualifiers and a three-star level Final. It is the
culmination of a long-held ambition by the FEI to establish a
series of linked CICs to promote the Eventing discipline across
the world. As the International One Day format has been adopted
for both the 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the series
has an added relevance.
The
response of both competitors and organisers has been enthusiastic.
Some 154 riders from 20 countries have taken part in the qualifiers
so far and 89 have earned points counting towards the final standings.
The event organisers have also been firmly behind the project
achieving an outstanding level of prize money for Eventing.
The
Final will be held in Pau (FRA) in from 23 to 26 October. It will
be contested by 45 of the world's top riders.
