The
Icelandic Horse Society of Great Britain invites all friends of
the Icelandic horse, including non-members, members of SIHA, and
especially young riders, to take part in this event, open to all
pure-bred, registered Icelandic horses, aged 5 years or over.
This will be the first ever World Ranking Competition to be held
in Britain, and will also include Youth Cup Classes for Junior
Riders.
As well as the championship (4- and 5-gait, tölt and pace)
classes which are the qualifiers for selecting Britain's team
for the World Championships in August, there will be plenty of
classes for novice and leisure riders.
With freestyle dressage, in-hand obstacle course, beer tölt,
junior fun classes, fancy dress in pairs, treasure hunt and BBQ,
there should be something for everyone, and plenty for spectators
to enjoy.
The show will start on Friday afternoon in the covered arena.
Oval track qualifying rounds and pace events will be on Saturday,
with finals, pace events, flag race, beer
tölt, and prize giving on Sunday.
As part of the Borders Festival of Horse, the treasure hunt is
open to all breeds of horse at any time during the festival week.
Win a made-to-measure bridle worth £150!
