Huge
Saddle Theft From R&R Country - Saddles Valued at £34,000
A
CALL has gone out to the trade to look out for anyone trying to
sell saddles after 90 were stolen from leading equestrian retailers
R&R Country.
Based
at Hemingbrough, near Selby, R&R Country stock a wide selection
of saddles, many from leading names in the market.
The
break in took place on the evening of Monday, April 28 when thieves
escaped with the haul.
Sue
Moxon of R&R Country said: "Whoever broke in and took the
saddles, really knew what they were doing and we believe they had
visited the store in the last week.
"The
team here still cannot believe this has happened, we have very good
security and it is quite upsetting.
"We
would welcome any information that may help the police to track
down the thieves, and would ask members of the trade to get in touch
if anyone not well known throughout the industry makes contact to
try and sell these saddles."
The
saddles stolen included various models from Kieffer, Ideal, WOW,
Frank Baines Reflex, Grand Gilbert (Dressage) Passier, Pessoa (jumping),
R&R Country (with R&R head nails), Otto Schumacher (dressage),
Jeffries Hawk Events, Bates Care Caprillis, Bates Care Isabelles,
KB Santis and a number of other brands.
Of
the 90 saddles stolen, some are microchipped. The R&R Country
saddles are very recognisable due to the headnails.
The
thieves escaped through a small hole in the wall and it is expected
that some of the saddles may have been scratched in the process.
Anyone
with any information on the break in and the saddles stolen should
contact PC 982 Lumb on 01904 631321.
