Jumping Result - IJM Timberframe Grand Prix - Floody Wins
Thomastown Grand Prix
|
ANOTHER
sunny Sunday welcomed the 25 starters to the Thomastown Grand Prix
in Co. Kilkenny today and John Floody racked up his first League
win on Paddy Musgrave's <Athea Clover Mist>.
Floody
said afterwards: <It was a day that started badly and ended well.
I had a puncture on the way here, and nearly didn't make the start.
But the course jumped very well and it was nice going. I am delighted.>
John
Floody was one of three riders who brought two horses to the third
outing in the IJM TimberFrame League, but only Shane Breen managed
to slot both into the Top Six, giving John Floody a very close run
for first place, riding <World Cruise>. Breen's other horse,
the national Grand Prix veteran <Luandra>, knocked one pole
in a fast second round, but was best of the four-faulters, and took
fifth place.
League
favourite Conor Swail and <Drumagoland Flight> took fourth
today, thereby putting Swail on a equal footing at the top of the
League table with Cian O'Connor, while Edward Doyle made his 2004
debut on <Effective>, taking third, enough to nudge him into
the higher echelons of the rankings.
Richie
Moloney also racked up points with a sixth place on Andrew Doogue's
<Sure Flow>.
Eleven
riders made it through to the jump-off on Pat Hutchinson's 1m40
course.
