Jumping - Quigley Best Of Irish On Copenhagen Opening Day
|
IRELAND'S
Dave Quigley was the only Irish rider to feature in a top ten place
on the opening day of the four-star event at Copenhagen (Thursday).
Riding
<Ashdale Spirit>, Quigley, who featured in Ireland's second-placed
Nations Cup team at Zagreb last year, was just over two seconds
behind the winner, Britain's Tim Stockdale, on <Fresh Direct
Glenwood Springs>, but a fiercely-fought battle featuring split-second
differences left him in seventh at the end.
The
Nations Cup of Denmark will take place tomorrow (Friday), with Quigley
lining out with Clem McMahon, Marie Burke, and Cameron Hanley. Elsewhere
in Europe, Friday also sees the first of the vital Nations Cup Super
League shows at La Baule, France, where Ireland will be fielding
a team that includes Olympic shortlisted riders.
