Olympia
awarded Dressage World Cup Qualifier
Following
on from the overwhelming success of the first ever Dressage evening
at the 2003 Olympia Christmas show, the organisers have announced
that they have been awarded an FEI Dressage World Cup Qualifier.
In
order to do complete justice to this important addition, the organisers
have announced that the show will now run over two extra nights,
beginning on 14th December and ending on 20th December 2004.
The
Dressage Grand Prix Evening will take place on Tuesday, 14th December,
and the all-important Kür (dressage to music) will be held
on the following evening, Wednesday 15th December.
The
shows Director, Simon Brooks-Ward, said: Dressage was
such an incredible success in the Grand Hall last year, that we
knew the time was right to host our first ever World Cup Qualifier.
We now have two of the most important international competitions
under one roof. Dressage has been growing in popularity in this
country and we will now be able to showcase the worlds greatest
Dressage horses and riders.
British
Dressage Chairman, Desi Dillingham, who has been appointed to the
Olympia Committee, said This is possibly the most important
development in British Dressage in decades. It gives an amazing
platform to promote Dressage to a huge audience. It will also give
British riders the opportunity to show how good they are in front
of their home crowd.
From
16th to 20th December there will be two performances per day. If
