THE ULTIMATE ALTERNATIVE THERAPY FOR REPAIR & MAINTENANCE OF THE ATHLETIC HORSE. HISTORY The father of the LEG SAVER is Gary G. DesRoches. I am a 62-year-old horse veteran with 47years experience in the thoroughbred industry. I have been involved in every aspect of it. In 1995 we purchased a yearling in the fall sale, which started to bow his tendon while in training the following summer. We did all the right things for the following year, with the problem getting worse. The need for a remedy for a severely bowed tendon spawned the search for a cure. A tens machine was the first product I tried with very limited success. Laser, ultra sound, and many others were tried but with mild short-term results. A break through came when we tried a cell stimulator used to increase the healing of broken bones and damaged ligaments by the local basketball team. The basis for this product was electro acupuncture using electro gel and rubber pads, not needles. With the use of the cell stimulator with wires, electro pads and a little electro gel, I started to treat our horse and others. The results were acceptable. This product had possibilities but I was still looking for something more efficient, stronger and quicker. I then tried a stimulator from Australia that was very good also in other ways. Using the best of both machines I was able to build, with further improvements and modifications, the best stimulator for the equine industry. This process took another six months of trial and error to find the right combinations. I am still learning and will continue to learn in the future. THE EQUI-STIM LEG SAVER IS NOT A [T.E.N.S.] MACHINE. At the same time I was introduced to book titled VETERINARY ACUPUNCTURE Ancient Art to Modern Medicine. In this book a chapter written by Dr. Thoresen DVM of Norway on TING POINT THERAPY was the most enlightening article I have ever read. Dr. Thoresen has developed the ting point therapy and has written several articles on this new therapy. Many practitioners have tried and endorsed his work. I must have read this article 100 times. I tried some treatments and had the most remarkable results. This therapy is the key to treating the injured horse. Ting point theory is the basis for all my success in treating with the EQUI-STIM LEG SAVERÔ. Many practitioners worldwide are using this theory in conventional acupuncture with a great deal of success. TING POINT THERAPY DEVELOPED BY DR. THORESEN IS THE FOUNDATION OF THE THEORY THAT MAKES THE EQUI-STIM LEG SAVER SO SUCCESSFULL. THE COMBINATION OF THE TWO IS THE PERFECT MATCH TO REPAIR AND MAINTAIN THE SICK OR INJURED HORSE I spent 18 months of research and development for the proper system of stimulation that would be the best product the LEG SAVER. Once we had the system then we needed a further 18 months developing the most effective protocol for the treatments. We now had the ultimate system for the repair of most of the injuries that plague the equine athlete. This is accomplished in most cases while the horse is still in training or exercising. In fact, the therapeutic value of the treatment is increased during exercise. We have treated over 4000 horses for most injuries that the athletic horse encounters. Most of these injuries will be addressed later in this document. We have changed and improved most treatments several times, as we are always trying to improve the protocol for all treatments. It seems that you never stop learning in this new and successful therapy REPAIRS BY STIMULATING THE IMMUNE SYSTEM The LEG SAVER accelerates healing by stimulating acupoints and meridians associated with the appropriate organ or area of injury. A unique therapeutic waveform restores ion transport to the appropriate area of injury or organ. It promotes movement of toxins from, and nutrients to the cell, which results in a dramatic reduction in inflammation. The LEG SAVER stimulates blood flow. The TING POINTS and meridians of some of the main organs of the horse are very responsive to the LEG SAVER and are the foundation for many of our treatments. LUNGS Treating the racehorse with lasix to stop and control bleeding in the lungs is very common in North America. We have treated over 800 horses for bleeding through lasix with a success rate of over 95%. We generally treat the horse the day before a race. The LEG SAVER will stop the bleeding and strengthen the lungs by directly treating them using the lung ting point. Just follow the simple instructions. TYING-UP (AZOTURIA) & REAR SORENESS Hindquarter soreness is the most frequent & serious problem in the equine athlete. You will find that if you keep the rear end of the horse pain free you will be able to eliminate most front-end problems. Most of the horses we have examined with chipped knees & fetlocks, inflamed suspensory, bowed tendon, check ligaments and sore shoulders, all had severe hindquarter soreness or tying-up syndrome (Azoturia). If you keep your horse pain free in the hindquarters you will eliminate most of the above problems. We have come to the conclusion that there are various degrees of tying-up, some that do not show up in a blood test. We can show you how to identify the problem. You can cure this efficiently and cost effectively with the EQUI-STIM LEG SAVERÔ. We have developed five main treatments to eliminate hindquarter soreness successfully. The treatments are Tying-up, Trochanteric bursa, Semi-tendinosus, Bai Hui and the Sacroiliac. CURE TYING-UP (AZOTURIA) WE HAVE TREATED OVER 300 HORSES FOR TYING-UP AND HAVE ACHIEVED A 100% SUCCESS RATE. CHECK LIGAMENTS Most check ligaments are caused by rear end soreness. This is a very difficult injury to treat. Ask any veteran horse person. We have developed a very simple treatment that creates blood flow into the ligaments and tendons of the foreleg. If your horse has check ligament problems I will guarantee you that it also has a very painful Trochanteric Bursa or Semi-tendinosus muscles. The check ligament can be diagnosed by the examination of the horse's front leg. When a horse over exerts itself it will probably strain the Trochaneteric Bursa or the Semi-tendinosus muscle. The horse will let you know if he has any of the problems by you probing with a simple pressing of the thumb or finger in the two specific areas. If you can catch the check ligament early you will save yourself a lot of time and effort. To catch it early means you can repair it in days or weeks not months. When treating this injury, patience is required. Keeping the Trochanteric Bursa & Semi-tendinosus muscles pain free you will eliminate the problem totally. HOOF The injured hoof is the most difficult part of the horse to treat. The LEG SAVER will repair any hoof problem successfully, sometimes in hours. We have treated chronic hoof problems, such as founder, navicular, laminitis, abscesses, poor hoof growth and quarter cracks. The LEG SAVER dramatically stimulates blood flow to the hoof as well as being antibacterial. You will be able to grow 1/4 to 3/8 inch of quality hoof per month with regular treatments. Two sets of easy boots are included with the package. Treatments can take from a minimum of 2 hour for some puss pockets or longer when chronic problems exist. You will conquer them all with patience. YOUR HORSE WILL INCREASE GROWTH 1/4 TO 3/8 INCH OR MORE OF QUALITY HOOF PER MONTH. GUARANTEED Treating lameness in the fetlock, tendons and ligaments has been very successful. We have found that by adding a second set of wires and treating the hoof at the same we are accelerating the blood flow to the hoof, which increases the flow of blood to the inflamed area higher up the leg. We have added this extra treatment for the standard protocol for treating front leg lameness. To accelerate the healing when treating the fetlock or knee, trim the hair off where the pads are placed. The closer to the skin you place the electrodes the better the treatment. Having discovered this accelerated treatment for leg lameness we have decided to talk to a number of experts in the industry to find out if this phenomenon has any foundation. In our opinion and others the prolonged use of the metal shoes and nails does restrict the flow of blood to the hoof. If the blood is restricted to the hoof then it must also be restricted to the lower leg. This is why this additional treatment is so successful. We have also found that the older the horse or the longer they have worn metal shoes and nails the more restriction there is in blood flow to the hoof and lower leg. EQUINE DIGITAL THERAPY There is a local ferrier Dave Ridge that has developed a new and revolutionary method of balancing and trimming the hoof. It is called EQUINE DIGITAL THERAPY. The increasing of blood flow to the hoof is one of the main benefits of this new therapy. We find that this system is much superior to anything that we have used in the past. It has been our experience that the ferrier is the most important person treating the horse. He is responsible for building and securing the foundation for the equine athlete. FETLOCK AND KNEE Stimulates the healing of most fetlock and knee problems dramatically (not chips). Increases the density of the fluid in fetlocks and knees, which means more lubrication to the joint. NEW TREATMENTS COLIC We have treated only a limited number of horses, with all completely recovered the next morning with only one treatment. OPEN WOUND The treatment accelerates the healing process by killing infection and increasing blood flow to the wound. ERRATIC BEHAVIOR These are the horses that refuse to perform, or stop, wheel and try to unseat the rider while starting or during exercise. They act in a crazy manner. We have been very successful in treating this problem. All horses that were treated started and continue to exercise in a proper and normal manner. This is accomplished in days. We are now working on stall walkers and weavers with great results. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE We feel all trainers looking at the bottom line must consider a comprehensive maintenance program to insure that the number of serious injuries will be diminished or eliminated. I have not been involved with many trainers yet that will spend the necessary time & effort on prevention. As sure as death and taxes the horse is going to suffer injuries, sometimes seriously. Why not prevent them. All trainers and owners can use the LEG SAVER for a preventative maintenance problem. Until now there has not been a program available to prevent injuries to the equine athlete that works. We have been successful in maintaining a horse's health over very long periods of time. Most trainers and owners will not consider this type of program. They would rather try repairing a very serious injury after the fact, which can be too late and very costly. Many fine equine athletes have had their racing careers diminished or terminated through a preventable injury We all know that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. BREEDERS Treat your stallions hoofs to insure good circulation and prevent founder and other complications. Treat and cure the colic in all your horses in most cases. We have not failed yet. You can strengthen lungs, heart, hoofs, tendons, ligaments and bones in young horses with a proper maintenance program. You will be able to produce a stronger, faster and more durable athlete with more stamina with the LEG SAVER. The advantage of treating Broodmares would help in the breeding of stronger and healthier foals. We have not treated any to date but feel strongly that it would be very beneficial. There is no downside as this is very holistic and un-intrusive. VERY EASY TO USE The power pack is placed on the horse with a harness and girth strap with a pocket that holds the machine on either side. Then a lead wire is placed into one of the two outlets. You can use two sets of wires at a time. There are a variety of leg wraps to hold the wires & pads in place. At the other end of the wires you will attach two of the different types of rubber Electro pads. There is Electro gel that must be placed on the pads so the unique therapeutic waveform will penetrate the hair on the patient. The pad is placed and attached to the area of treatment with either a NEOPRENE VELCRO wrap or tape. The LEG SAVER is then turned on and adjusted to the setting that is comfortable to the patient. We have designed and manufactured all NEOPRENE VELCRO wraps for the most convenient and efficient use. YOU CAN DO-IT-YOUR-SELF Most of the horse persons that have purchased the LEG SAVER have had little or no medical or acupuncture experience. They have all been able to operate it successfully with no problems. It is very simple to operate. The more you use it the better you get. A limited knowledge of acupuncture is helpful but not necessary. You can purchase a number of books on the subject to familiarize yourself to the theory. We have accomplished everything to date with no medical or acupuncture training. There is a very good book titled VETERINARY ACUPUNCTURE by Allen M. Schoen, DVM. MS. This is an excellent book for every horse person to have for reference. Each treatment comes with simple written and visual instructions. The protocol for most treatments is shown in the INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO. The LEG SAVER is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery and comes with a 12 volt - 500 milli-amp adapter. Forty to sixty hours of use is possible before recharging is required. There is no memory so you can charge it at any time. I personally recharge every 3 days. The adapter supplied must be used for charging. THE LEG SAVER COMES WITH A 1-YEAR WARRANTY AND 30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE We can show you how to repair all the small nagging & major problems that keep your horse or horses from performing at peek performance. You can do this while not missing any training. If you are willing to put in a little work your horse or horses will perform better and be much healthier. We guarantee this or we will refund your money. I KNOW THAT THIS PRODUCT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, BUT IT IS EVERYTHING WE SAY IT IS BENEFITS OF OWNING
