Nationally Recognized Polo event to Benefit Children's Hospital @ Albany Medical Center for second year. Owl Creek Polo Club of West Glenville, New York, is hosting its fifth annual Charlie's Angels Women's Polo Tournament, scheduled for August 25-26. Sanctioned by the US Polo Association, female Polo players from all over the United States and Canada can be expected to participate in the tournament, and draws much press nationally. These top female athletes, are expected to ring at least 100 horses to the area to compete in a 2 day event where they will separated into 8 teams. The preliminary matches will take place on Saturday, the finals will be on Sunday behind Beukendaul Fire Department on Sacandaga Road in Glenville. They will start approx. 10:00 am and continue throughout early afternoon. This event is one of few exclusively for women, and the largest in the Northeast United States. The introductory levels of this tournament introduces many women for the first time, to competitive polo, allowing them to play their fullest potential. Carole Koch, local business-woman and herself a polo player will be organizing the Tournament, along with a raffle and a barbecue. She is currently seeking sponsors for donations for the raffle as well as companies that would like to back and name the teams or Most Valuable Player award. The net proceeds from the event will be donated to the Children's Hospital at the Albany Medical Center. Call 842 8823 for more information.
