Unicorn Trails and British Horse Society have joined forces to expand your holiday horizons. Now anyone can enjoy a unique holiday type previously reserved for the few.

With 3 revolutionary new programs, Unicorn Starter, Unicorn Trail Rider and Unicorn Safari Adventure, you can now prepare for a worldwide riding holiday at BHS approved establishments throughout the UK. Whether you are a beginner wanting to try a new activity or holiday, a lapsed rider wanting to get fit for a riding holiday or experienced rider wanting to hone your skills and fitness for a challenging trek, there is now a ready made, quality, affordable program available at a BHS establishment locally.

Unicorn Starter is aimed at those who want to try these unique riding holidays but have little if any previous riding experience. After 4 hours of instruction and 4 hours of ground handling you will feel comfortable around horses, be able to groom and saddle up your own horse, mount and dismount and ride at a walk and trot. This will give you all the experience and skills necessary to explore the olive groves and mountains of Greece or Cyprus, traverse the Pyrenean Mountains in France, ride amongst zebra and antelope in South Africa or Swaziland, ride through the spectacular Andes in South America or mighty Himalayas in India.

Unicorn Trail Rider includes a 1 hour assessment ride and 3 sessions of 2 hours each, trail riding at a walk, trot and canter over gentle terrain. This is for riders with some experience or occasional riders wanting to get the best out of any of the fantastic 24 intermediate level riding holidays available from Unicorn Trails. After this course you could trail through Tuscany for a week enjoying the spectacular scenery and gourmet food, ride with rhino on a Wilderness Safari or live out the cowboy dream in the USA.

Unicorn Safari Adventure consists of a 1 hour assessment ride and 4 sessions of 2 hours each, riding over varied terrain at all paces. After this course you will be confident over all terrain at a walk, trot, canter, gallop and be able to clear small natural obstacles. This will allow you to take your own line at a gallop alongside giraffe in Kenya, tackle extreme slopes in the Snowy Mountains, Australia or sail through a 250 mile Namib Desert trek without any aching muscles!

Unicorn Trails was established by Veterinary Surgeon, Wendy Hofstee. A keen horsewoman, Ms. Hofstee has travelled the world on horseback. Her extensive experience gained on her travels, has been paramount in ensuring Unicorn Trails are the exception in offering tours with that extra spirit of adventure. Every trail has been personally tried and tested by Ms. Hofstee to make sure they meet the high standards required by Unicorn Trails.
