Horse Club to Host 55th National Show and World Championship
Youth Show in Oklahoma City |
Moscow,
Idaho-The Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) will be hosting the 55th National
Appaloosa Horse Show and Appaloosa Youth World Show in Oklahoma
City, Okla. June 24-July 6, 2002.
Over
1,200 Appaloosas and 3,000 exhibitors will compete in over 190 youth,
open, and non-pro classes for Championship titles.
The
first six days of the show are dedicated to the World Championship
Youth Show. Youth exhibitors have the opportunity to participate
in a variety of classes to demonstrate their skills and talents
with horses both in and out of the show-ring. Youth also participate
in several other social and educational activities including Appaloosa
Youth Association meetings, a speech contest, a dummy roping, a
stall decorating contest, and the Team Tournament Parade on Saturday,
June 29.
The
nation's oldest single breed championship event in the country,
the National Appaloosa Show, will begin Sunday June 30. For seven
days exhibitors will compete for titles, money, and prizes in classes
ranging from Team Penning to Reining. Additionally the Appaloosa
Pleasure Horse Association and the Appaloosa Cutting Horse Association
will be hosting classes; providing competitors with added money.
Highlights
of the show include the fifth annual Challenged Riders Leadline
class for the physically and mentally challenged, Most Colorful
at Halter, Horse Against Horse games, Youth Year-End Awards Banquet
on Sunday, June 23, and Year-End Awards Banquet on Sunday June 29.
Spectators
can also take part in the 2002 Shoppers' Delight Trade Show where
vendors will be displaying a variety of merchandise from western
apparel and jewelry to custom embroidery and horse trailers.
The
Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) invites everyone to attend the World

Both shows will be filled with a variety of exciting classes, events,
