Walter at
model show
Not
once, but twice!
Walter, a real live horse, has been invited to attend the West Coast
Model Horse Collector's Jamboree and introduce his own model likeness.
Humbly, he has accepted.
The Jamboree, in it's 11th year, will be held from August 16 to 18
at Fairplex Building Five in Pomona, California, and will attract
model horse collectors from all over the country as well as Europe
and Asia. Last year Walter was selected by Jamboree officials as a
new model horse because he had just "written" a book, Walter
Spills The Oats." Since the book is still selling very well,
Sheryl Leisure, show producer and sculptress of Walter's model, thought
he should have a second appearance so show goers could see first hand
how much the model resembles the live horse.
Walter, a six-year-old black Quarter Horse gelding, lives in Scottsdale,
Arizona with his owner and trainer, Don Blazer, internationally known
author of horse books as well as the nationally-syndicated column,
A Horse, Of Course. Walter's opinions or advice often appear in the
column. Blazer admits Walter had a little "technical assistance"
with his book since Walter has yet to master the computer keyboard.
Walter will have his own corral at the Jamboree and will be available
to pats and pictures from fans and new acquaintances. His book will
be packaged with his model and sold together at the show. To learn
