RIDER HISTORY
Laura
successfully competed in showing classes until 1994 when she took
up dressage. Within her showing career, Laura won at the Horse of
the Year Show and the Royal International Horse Show as well as
being Leading Show Pony Rider. With Elvas Laura was a member of
both the Junior and Young Rider teams at the European Championships
taking 3rd place in 1996 in the Young Rider European Championships
ConsolationTest.
She
bought Millenium as an Advanced Medium horse. The combination went
to Germany to train with Hubertus Schmidt before returning to Britain
in 1998 and where, in their first year at Grand Prix, they won at
Prix St Georges, Intermediaire I, and Intermediaire II.
In
2000 Laura was longlisted for the Sydney Olympic Games.
In
2001 Laura represented GB at the European Championships, held in
Verden, Germany, where the British team came sixth.
In
2001 Laura was awarded the Raymond Brooks-Ward trophy for the most
promising rider under 26 years old in any of the Equestrian Olympic
disciplines.
Laura's
father is the Chairman of Coventry City Football Club.
