San Patrignano's CSI-A: top class equestrian sport
comes back to the Community
San Patrignano's CSI-A which will take place on next July 19-21,
2002 within the equestrian sport centre of the biggest European
community for drug addicts rehabilitation will be particularly full
of emotions. Indeed on last May 6 in Leipzig, during the World Cup's
finals, the President of the Italian Equestrian Federation, Cesare
Croce, has officially presented to the FEI Jumping Committee, the
candidature of the Rimini's Community as a venue for the European
Jumping Show Championships 2005. To the meeting the most important
managers of the worldwide equestrian were present: the FEI General
Secretary, Bo Helander, the World Cup director, Max Ammam, the Jumping
Committee President, Olaf Petersen and the representative of the
Riders International Association, the dutch Emile Hendrix.
Waiting
for the final decision of the FEI Executive Committee planned by
the next November, this choice is already stimulating all the Community's
young guests to be even more committed in the hard work of setting
up the July CSI-A and that it makes even more strong the human and
social meaning which stands behind the Rimini's event. "For
all of us, the July jumping show will have a value even higher than
in the past, because we will deeply commit ourselves to confirm
to be able to face a so prestigious candidature" says Giacomo
Muccioli, responsible of the San Patrignano's breeding and jumping
team, "to candidate for the European Championships organization
a drug rehabilitation community it is an unprecedented event in
the history of the whole worldwide sport. If the application we
presented, thanks to the fundamental collaboration of the FISE,
it should be accepted, we would be facing a situation able to redefine
the relationships between sports and society, between sport and
solidarity, demonstrating that sports and equestrians in particular,
would be able to play an important role in facing the hardest problems
of our society".
According to tradition, most of world top riders will take part
in the San Patrignano horseshow: from Belgium Ludo Philippaerts
(n°3 of the FEI ranking), from switzerland Markus Fuchs (n°6)
and Willi Melliger (18°), from UK Michael Withaker (n°10)
and the dutch Emile Hendrix (n°40) technical advisor of the
Show and winner of the last "Grand Prix - Challenge Vincenzo
Muccioli". Italy will have a consistent participation drawing
up the number one of the Italian jumping, Jerry Smit (n°9),
Roberto Arioldi (n° 29) and Gianni Govoni (n°60). Bearing
the colours of the San Patrignano's Jumping Team will be, riding
the best horses of the community, the Spanish Fernando Fourcade,
a choice which highlighting the positive results obtained by San
Patrignano over the last years for both the selection and the breeding
of jumping show horses.
On the competitions courses, designed by the internationally known
designer Olaf Petersen, that will be set up on the large grass arena
of San Patrignano (110 m. X 90 m.), the riders will compete for
a total amount of money prize of €. 200.000, 50.000 of them
for the Grand Prix. The show program, which will see, as for the
past years, Eleonora Ottaviani as show director, foresees three
competitions every day, starting at 17.30 and having the highest
technical content course in the evening (h 21.30).
