O'Connor
Maintains The Pressure At St Gallen
|
WITH
THE needle match of Sunday's Nations Cup looming, Ireland's Cian
O'Connor maintained the almost relentless Irish pressure on the
opposing countries with a Second place in today's (Saturday) St.
Gallen Speed Class, but was unable to equal Germany's Toni Hassmann's
super-fast time of 75.40, coming in over three seconds slower.
However,
23 yr old O'Connor has now demonstrated that his second-string horse,
ABC Landliebe, is a force to be reckoned with, having already won
the opening class at the Swiss fixture, and taking a Seventh place
earlier today. Yesterday, O'Connor's team-mates Robert Splaine and
Billy Twomey took First and Second in the St. Gallen Grand Prix,
proving that the Irish are in fiercely determined mood for tomorrow's
Nations Cup showdown.
