Bramham
CCI*** won by the Irish Sport Horse Wallow |
The
Bramham International Horse Trials (CCI***) last weekend, June 5th
to 8th 2003, was yet another major three day event in which first
place was claimed by an Irish Sport Horse. Following Supreme Rocks
(ISH) achievement at Badminton, fellow Irish Sport Horse Wallow,
ridden by William Fox-Pitt (GBR) won top prize at Bramham. In second
place after the cross country, Wallow picked up just four showjumping
faults to finish on a final score of 51.
William
Fox-Pitt (GBR) had a very successful run at Bramham as he also took
second place with another Irish bred horse, Ballincoola. In total,
eight Irish horses finished in the top twenty at this event, four
of them in the top ten. These were the above Wallow and Ballincoola
with The Wexford Lady (ISH) seventh and Mary Kings (GBR) King George
II (ex Ballyhane Imp ISH) finishing tenth.
In
Showjumping, last weekend proved successful for Conor Swail (IRE)
at the Bourg en Bresse (FRA) CSI***. He rode Windgate King Koal
(ISH) to win Fridays 1m45 Prix Carosserie Donguy class and then
went on to win Saturdays 1m35 7 year old class riding Windgate Sensation
