Charity Attempts New World
Record |
The big challenge at the ILPH (International
League for the Protection of Horses) Madness 2001 will be an attempt to break
the Guinness World Record for the largest ever tombola.
Madness 2001 follows on from the success of
Millennium Madness last year, and will take place at Hinton in the Hedges
Airfield, Nr Brackley, Northants on Sunday, 9th September 2001.
The current tombola prize record, held by a
Buckingham based charity, stands at a staggering 2,424 prizes but the ILPH, who
are attempting to obtain an incredible 3,000 prizes, have got off to a good
start with an early donation of 1,000 items of redundant stock.
Anybody who would like to help the ILPH by
donating an item or items, which, for the World Record attempt must be new and
worth more than 50p, should contact John Cannon, ILPH Mobile Promotions
Officer, on 07801 880201.
Madness 2001 offers a fun day out for all the
family with attractions that include horse and working dog displays,
conventional and ?horseyµ car boot sales, clay pigeon shoot, exemption dog
show, gymkhana, World Champion Arm Wrestlers, and much, much more.
