horse CHARITY POLO WITH A TWIST

Top jockeys and leading event riders switch to pedal power in a charity polo match to raise money for INSPIRE, the Salisbury based medical research charity that helps to improve the quality of life of people with spinal cord injuries.

People can now buy tickets from INSPIRE to see Jockeys Richard Johnson, Carl Llewellyn, Chris Maude and Tony McCoy take on eventers Zara Phillips, William Fox-Pitt and Clayton and Lucinda Fredericks in a game of polo, during which one chukka will be on bicycles, at the Tidworth Polo Ground on 14th July 2001.

In addition there will be an international match between the Combined Services and a team from the USA culminating in the annual match between the Army and the Royal Navy, the latter traditionally captained by HRH the Prince of Wales.

Robert Morgan, Director of INSPIRE said “This is a wonderful day out in a beautiful part of the English countryside. It is also an ideal opportunity for visitors to raise money for medical research by booking a ticket through INSPIRE. For £25, we can offer people a sumptuous lunch and a free car pass, or if they prefer to bring a picnic we can give them a car pass for £10. The pass will £15 on the day.
