TEAM BRONZE AT THE PONY EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The British Pony Dressage Team won Team
bronze at the European Championships, which were held at Vejer de la Frontera
in Spain from 23rd - 29th July 2001.
Despite the tremendously hot conditions the
British youngsters attained a team score of 2929, just missing silver position
by 3 points. Silver was taken by Netherlands with a score of 2932, whilst the
gold was captured by Germany with a score of 3243.
The Team were Charles Bowles (Oxon) riding
Daphne II, Lorna Edmonds (Devon) riding Manitu N, Georgie Hamblin (Kent) riding
Joop, and Sally Makin (Yorkshire) riding Nurejew.

Claire Hilton, Chef d'Equipe, stated that 'she
was extremely pleased how well the team had worked together in light of such
tough competition to attain a bronze medal'.
