Death
Of Hazel O'Callaghan - Statement from EFI President
EFI
President Avril Doyle, MEP, has issued a statement on the death
of 22 year-old Hazel O'Callaghan, who died on Wednesday, July 3,
following an injury sustained two weeks earlier in Maynooth, while
unloading a horse from a lorry.
Avril
Doyle said today (Friday): <<As President of the Equestrian
Federation of Ireland, and on behalf of its directors, I would like
to extend my sincerest sympathy to Owen and Shelagh O'Callaghan
and their family upon their tragic loss. Hazel's death has affected
the whole of the equestrian community in Ireland. During the last
two weeks we had all had been praying for a positive outcome to
the situation, but sadly, this was not to be. All our thoughts are
with the O'Callaghans at this time.>>
