Than Two Weeks To Go To The Show -Kerrygold Horse Show Starts

There
are only two weeks to go to the sporting and social event of the
summer - the 2002 Kerrygold Horse Show - 7 - 11 August 2002 at the
RDS, Ballsbridge.
"Ireland
deserves some sun this summer and we are hoping for five days of
sunshine to match the atmosphere and mood of the Show," said
Gerry McAuliffe, Kerrygold Horse Show Director.
Seven
full teams will compete in the Kerrygold Nation's Cup for the Aga
Khan Challenge Trophy at 3pm on Friday 9 August 2002 - Great Britain,
Belgium, France, Holland, Italy, Switzerland and Ireland.
The
leading international and national riders will be competing in the
Main Arena international competitions. Some renowned riders attending
include: Peter Charles and Cian O'Connor (IRL); Tim Stockdale and
Robert Smith (GBR); Clare Bronfman (USA); Roelof Bril (Netherlands);
Patrice Delaveau (FR); and Philippe Lejeune (BEL).
Over
1500 horses will compete in 127 showing classes and competitions
with in excess of €415,000 in prize money given out and 52
trophies presented.
Every
square metre of commercial space has been filled with 236 companies
exhibiting their wares. There are 59 companies coming to Ireland
from the UK and Europe with some from as far afield as Italy.
The
most stylishly dressed lady on Thursday 8 August 2002, Ladies' Day,
will get to drive home in a fabulous new SEAT Leon worth €18,060.
The
Guinness Jazz Band will be performing daily at lunch and Macnas
will be performing their new show, 'The Fascinating Adventures of
Captain Zoom Zoom and his Flying Minstrel Dwing' on the Band Lawn
three times daily.

Admission to the Show is €11 for adults and €7 for children,
students and senior citizens. Pre-purchased stand tickets range
from €20 - €33 for adults and €15.00 to €28
