The
Dutch strike out even at the Tamoil prize
The
Dutch riders rule out the second competition day at the challenge
Vincenzo Muccioli in San Patrignano: they won all of the three classes
in program, thus respecting the eve forecasts which listed them
among the top favourites in this event together with the Belgian
and Swiss riders. And so, after the afternoon successes both achieved
by Van der Vleuten, considered one of the fastest riders in the
whole international circuit, Piet Raymekers won at night the Tamoil
prize, a two-phases-class with fences of 1,45.
Raymakers, who belongs in the history of Dutch horse-riding - silver
individual medallist and gold team medallist at Barcelona olympic
games in 1992 -, exploited as good as possible the advantage of
being the third-last in the starting list and therefore knowing
times and penalties of his competitors. Aboard his van Schjndel
he could carry out a most fast and aggressive on the fances round,
which allowed him in the end to overcome by only 20 cents of a second
his fellow countryman Yves Houtackers on Gianni G, up to that moment
leader of the class. The third place went to the american lady-rider
Laura Linback on Remeber Me; the fourth to the winner of the 2001
edition of this prize, the Belgian Mathy Jnr; the fifth to the French
Michel Hecart.
And
now everybody's attention focuses on the important last competition
day, peculiarly on the Infostrada Grand Prix starting today at 21.30.
This class will give insights on the condition of importaint pairs
both from the Italian show-jumping scene as well as from the internationa
one, in a moment when the world championship in Jerez is only 50
days away
