Nutraceutical Int’l Inc. to Sponsor Vermont Summer Festival Grand Prix

East Dorset, Vermont—July 22, 2002—The third of five $35,000 Grand Prix events of the Vermont Summer Festival Horse Show to be held on Sunday, July 28, will be sponsored by Nutraceutical Int’l Inc. of Park City, Utah. The company is the nation’s leading manufacturer of vitamins and supplements sold to independent health food stores.

"The sponsorship from Nutraceutical for our event is special because it comes from supporters that are also horse enthusiasts," stated Dotty Ammerman, Executive Director of the Vermont Summer Festival. "It is also an indicator of how far our support reaches," she added.

Bob Gay, Managing Director of Boston-based Bain Capital, which holds a 40% ownership of Nutraceutical, spearheaded the relationship. Two of his children who train with Janie Weber of the Ridgefield, CT based Stepping Stone Farm are competing at this year’s Vermont Summer Festival. Summer Paulos, Gay’s 25-year-old daughter, was the Champion of the first two week’s High Amateur/Owner Junior Jumping Division, and Lara Gay, 16-years-old, was the second week's Junior Hunter Champion.

Gay stated "We’re thrilled to be involved in the Vermont Summer Festival and spend time as a family in the beautiful Manchester area. This is the 2nd year we’ve been attending the event and are happy to add to our involvement through this sponsorship."

Several vitamins and supplement brands including Solaray, KAL, VegLife, Premier One, ActiPet and Solar Green are distributed across the United States and in 40 countries.

Each of the five weeks of the Vermont Summer Festival feature a $10,000 Show Jumping Hall Of Fame High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper class, part of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series which determines which junior and amateur/owner riders will qualify to ride at the 2002 National Horse Show. There will also be Marshall & Sterling and North American League Child/Adult Classics and a NAL Open Speed class.
