Spectacular End To The Chester International Horse
Show
Welshman
Andrew Davies wins the Premier Consulting UK Supreme Championship
in spectacular style at the Chester International Horse Show on
Sunday afternoon.
Andrew
who is based in Warrington, was third to go in the final jump off
and had to set off at a cracking pace as there had already been
two clears and with one rider still to go! Riding Mandy Hall's Limbo
Andrew set an unbeatable time of 35.69 seconds, and this worthy
combination took home the largest prize of £5,000.
Set
in the idyllic surroundings of the old Roman City of Chester, the
Chester International Horse Show embarked on its second consecutive
year, running from the 17th - 20th July, 2003. Billed as the largest
show jumping event in the north of England the show is successfully
managed by Scope Promotions (Equestrian) Ltd in conjunction with
Chester City Council. This outstanding show takes place in a unique
locality, the Roodee of Chester Racecourse, the oldest and smallest
racecourse in Britain.
Last
years event proved a momentous success, with three fantastic days
of show jumping, four hundred horses and ponies and over three hundred
riders competed over the three day duration of the show. It is very
encouraging for British show jumpers and has this year attracted
riders from across Europe, Ireland, USA, Brazil, Jordan and New
Zealand.
