GB Teams Set For Kentucky

Britain's mounted games team are currently training for the World Mounted Games Team Championships which take place at Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington from July 24-27. Eighteen international teams from throughout the world are set to come together for a three-day extravaganza at the home of the Kentucky three-day event.

The competition is held over three days, with USA and Canada using their own ponies - all overseas teams will ride borrowed ponies. Wales are favourites - they are the reigning world champions and were reserve in 2001 in Canada on borrowed ponies and it is the same team which return to North America and hope to retain the title.

Scotland's team comprises of Lisa Burns, Callum Evans, Leanne Quinn, Jenny Riva and Leanne Skelly making up the team of five. Travelling reserve is Kelly Quinn and the chef d'equipe and team manager is East Ayrshire team trainer Jacky Skelly, they are supported by www.bluesaddle.co.uk

The England team has Choc Adcock - the reigning World Individual Champion, Ross Elliot - a former World Pairs Champion, Richard Pringuer, Vicky Thomas & Elaine Trevor Jones, who have all represented their country at Home International level.

Representing Wales are Alex and Christian Jones - part of the all conquering Sussex county team, Jo Dale, Julian (Boo) Price and farrier Huw Whitney. They are trained by Clive Jones.
