Equine
Science Weekends in exquisite setting
|
The
new location of the Open College of Equine Studies offers a superb
venue for relaxing and learning more about horses. Now based on
the Boxted Estate in the Glem Valley near Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk
in the grounds of a 14th Century moated baronial hall, the college
provides the perfect setting for a short course in equine science.
Our
Weekend courses are suitable for students, professionals in the
equestrian sphere and horse-owners who have a particular interest
in the topics covered.
Equine
Stud Management, 13th & 14th September, will be led by Dr Nicky
Holdstock BA, MA, Vet.MB, PhD, Cert.EM. (Stud Med), LVI, MRCVS.
Equine
Therapies, 20th & 21st September, combines class-room based
lectures with practical hands-on sessions with qualified
practitioners.
Equine
Behaviour and Welfare, 11th & 12th October, will be led by Dr.
Amanda Badnell-Waters BSc, MSc, PhD, the colleges newly appointed
Head of Equine Higher Education and Postgraduate Education and will
comprise a range of lectures and practical activities including
behavioural problems and their management. Equine Behavioural Therapist
Cathy Tindall will demonstrate join-up techniques.
Course
fees are £245 per person for enrolled TOCES students and £285
for non-TOCES students and include lunch, dinner, drinks and accommodation
on the Saturday and breakfast and lunch on the Sunday.
