Horse Park To Bid For 2010 World Equestrian Games

The
USA Equestrian Board of Directors, acting on the recommendation
of the FEI Competitions Committee, granted to the Kentucky Horse
Park the right to bid on behalf of the United States for the 2010
World Equestrian Games. Bid preparation will continue until October
2004, when final bids are due to the FEI in Lausanne, Switzerland.
John
Nicholson, Director of the Kentucky Horse Park says, We
remain confident that the Kentucky Horse Park can produce a World
Equestrian Games that will make our country and the world proud.
The Horse Park is blessed with a number of world-class facilities
and we are intent on adding even more. I am excited about the
future.
The
2006 World Equestrian Games will be held in Aachen, Germany, from
August 22 September 3. Riders will compete in the seven
international disciplines of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing,
jumping, reining and vaulting.
USA
Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of the
U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship
sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show
jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines
of equestrian competition. As
the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation
has over 80,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions
nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including
educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates
who officiate at these shows.
