America returns to Hickstead in search of a Super League
win.
A
United States team will be competing at the Longines Royal International
Horse Show (July 21-25), the first time since 2001 that American
riders will have competed at Hickstead. On that visit they won the
coveted double when Candice King and Norman Dello Joio won the Queen
Elizabeth II Cup and King George V Gold Cup respectively.
They
will be one of the eight teams in the Samsung Super League Nations
Cup of Great Britain, competing for the Prince of Wales Trophy.
The
US squad entered the Super League this year, replacing Sweden which
failed to hold its place for the 2004 season.
Great
Britain, currently fifth in the league behind France, Netherlands,
Germany and Belgium, won the British round in 2003 and will be eager
to make it a two in a row win again this year.
