ARMATHWAITE HALL HORSE TRIALS SECURES THREE-YEAR
GLOBAL TV DEAL Just weeks after the
cancellation of the 2001 event, the dynamic organising team at Armathwaite Hall
has revealed that a 3-year contract for global television coverage of the blue
riband Lake District event has been put in place for 2002 - 2005.
The Armathwaite Hall media teams
extensive contacts and expert media knowledge have proved invaluable in
developing additions to the schedule in place for the 2001 event. The coverage
now contracted for will, for the first time in the history of the sport, put
British Eventing onto television screens across the world.
Armathwaite Hall already has an enviable record
in media relations, the events cutting edge use of the
internet much copied and its television coverage unrivalled.
Joint Organiser Frank Hewett-Smith said,
Recent comment has suggested that there is potential for improved
coverage of equestrian sport and having now put our strategy in place,
its obvious that there is a great deal of interest in well-prepared and
supported proposals.
What we have is a very comprehensive
global media schedule for our event for the next three years and so we can now
offer all our supporters and sponsors the ultimate media package, incorporating
press, satellite and terrestrial television and also the tremendous potential
of the internet. It should be good for our event, good for the sport of
eventing and good for the Lake District and Cumbria.
