USA EQUESTRIAN ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF 2001
PRUDENTIAL/AHSA NATIONAL HUNTER PONY CHAMPIONSHIP
USA Equestrian (formerly AHSA) announced today the
results of the 2001 Prudential/AHSA National Hunter Pony Championship, which
took place on August 16-17th 2001 at the Western North Carolina Agricultural
Center, Fletcher, NC.
Exhibitors have gone head-to head over the two days in the small, medium and
large sections competing in over-fences, under-saddle and model classes.
Competitors qualified for this event by winning a Champion or Reserve
Championship at an "A" or "AA" rated AHSA competition
between July 16, 2000 and July 15, 2001.
RESULTS
Overall Hunter Pony Grand Champion - Tristan's Party Shoes (Molly Sullivan)
Overall Reserve Hunter Pony Grand Champion - Wild Blue (Addison Phillips);
owner - Mrs Quentin Alexander.
Trainer of the Overall Grand Champion for the Emerson Burr Perpetual Trophy -
Sharyn Cole
State Team Award presented to the state with three or more representatives that
gained the highest points - Massachusetts
Button & Bows Sportsmanship Award - Dominique Mungin
Virginia Pony Breeders Association Award to the highest pointed Virginia-bred
pony - Wild Blue.
USA Equestrian Inc., as the National
Equestrian Federation of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and
World Championship sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining,
show jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of
equestrian competition. As the country's largest multi-breed organization, the
Federation has over 77,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions
nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including
educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who
officiate at these shows.
