USA EQUESTRIAN ISSUES STATEMENT ON NGB CHALLENGE USA Equestrian (formerly American Horse Shows Association) issued a statement today by its president, Alan F. Balch, commenting on the USET trustees meeting held by telephone conference on Tuesday (August 28, 2001), in which another USET annual meeting was scheduled for Wednesday, September 12, 2001. USET's corporate actions this year were declared "null and void" by the New Jersey Superior Court in a ruling issued on August 16. In addition, the court confirmed that USET trustees have an "absolute and unqualified right" to inspect all its books and records. The statement is available at http://www.ahsa.org/EquestrianGovernance/USETBotMemoAug30.htm USA Equestrian Inc., as the National Equestrian Federation of the U.S., is the regulatory body for the Olympic and World Championship sports of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, reining, show jumping, and vaulting, as well as 19 other breeds and disciplines of equestrian competition. As the country's largest multi-breed organization, the Federation has over 77,000 members and recognizes more than 2,800 competitions nationwide each year. It governs all aspects of competition, including educating and licensing all judges, stewards, and technical delegates who officiate at these shows. |
