The Bowmore Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair

Blair Atholl, Perthshire
Thursday 22nd - Sunday 25th August 2002

Sally Magnusson To Attend Horse Trials

Scotland’s best known newsreader, Sally Magnusson is to attend the Bowmore Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair on Saturday, 24th August this year.

In a situation as far removed as possible from being behind a desk in the television studios, Sally and her family will be participating in many of the Country Fair activities on offer, while enjoying the spectacular scenery surrounding Blair Castle.

Saturday is cross country day, which means the Magnusson’s will be able to join the rest of the spectators in watching some of the world’s top three-day eventers tackle the challenging fences, including the Bowmore Steps and House of Bruar Water Splash.

Visitors to the event will be entertained at the Country Fair arena throughout the day by fascinating displays ranging from duck herding with dogs to horse logging, while wood-carving and tree-climbing in the popular Woodland Area can be viewed from a steam train.

On their tour round the extensive tented village which boasts nearly as many shops as Princes Street, Sally and her family are more than likely to stop off at the CHAS stand and shop.

Sally has consistently supported the Childrens’ Hospice Association of Scotland since it was set up 10 years ago. She is a frequent visitor at Rachel House in Kinross and is active in her fund-raising support for the new hospice planned for Loch Lomond.
