SAMSUNG
NATIONS CUP SERIES
World Final: participating teams
The
Samsung Nations Cup Final will take place on 24 August in Donaueschingen
(GER).
After
the two last qualifying CSIOs in Dublin (IRL) and Bratislava (SVK),
the starting field of the Final is known: they are the seven best
teams of the Samsung Nations Cup standings plus one wild card
for an overseas team.
Germany
(leader of the rankings with 63 points)
Italy (53)
Belgium (48)
France (46)
The Netherlands (41)
Ireland (35)
Sweden (35)
USA (wild card, 18)
The
Top 5 of the standings before the last two qualifiers had their
place already secured for the Final. Last week-end saw the battle
for the remaining two places between four European teams: Switzerland,
Sweden, Ireland and Great Britain. Best overseas team, USA received
a wild card, as the best overseas team.
Ireland
qualified at home by finishing third in front of an enthusiastic
crowd in Dublin. Switzerland sent one team to Ireland and one
to Slovakia, but did not manage to collect more than 3 points
for their 5th place in Dublin and 1 point for their 6th place
in the Slovak Republic. Great Britain finished 4th in Dublin and
also missed its chance to start in the Final.
The
team that Sweden sent to Bratislava was rather successful and
finished third, earning 4 points and its qualification to the
Final.
The
riders participating in the Final will be announced shortly.
