The Chilcotin Mountain Horse Trek Challenge Prize Draw

" Some of you may have seen the prize draw I have running to raise money for the Canada Trek Challenge, all the proceeds of which will go to the Guide dogs for the Blind Association. Time is now running out as I am off in four weeks and I would like as many people as possible to win as there are lots of super prizes. Matt Ryan the Olympic 3 day Event Gold Madallist has kindly agreed to do the draw and has signed some items for prizes too. Most of his sponsors have kindly given either items for prizes or equipment for the trek. The Australian Wine Bureau have been especially generous having donated a case of Australian wine for prizes. As before www.justgiving.com/hilarytrek gives further details on how to enter and I have added my address and a bank account number for those who would rather not give online. or you can email me on pittam@supanet.com for information.

So please please support this very worthy cause and give yourself the chance to win one of many exciting prizes.

Good Luck and Thankyou
Hilary "

The Chilcotin Mountain Horse Trek Challenge
British Columbia, Canada

I saw an editorial in one of our Equestrian trade magazines seeking PIONEERS ! Intrigued I rang for details and discovered an opportunity to help a charity for which I have always had a soft spot- Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. Further enquiries now mean that I am to embark on a very challenging trek through the Columbian mountains. Amenities will be basic and we will have to carry everything needed for the entire trek on packhorses.

However before that I have to raise a considerable sum of money for the guide dogs. It costs £10 per day to train and support a Guide dog partnership all from voluntary contributions. There are over 5000 guide dog partnerships in the UK as well as the other services provided to visually impaired people. All the money I raise for the challenge will go to the charity. (Only 4p in the £ is taken for administration)
I am doing several fundraising events including a sponsored ride and a dog show. This is hard work but very rewarding.

Personally I have a third part to the challenge. Being well into middle age I had not ridden for a number of years, so I am busily getting riding fit again on my elderly Exmoor mare. Hopefully it will improve both our waistlines !!.

Many of our Equestrian wholesalers have been extremely generous and have donated some lovely prizes. In order to give more people the opportunity to win I have arranged an Internet draw. To be eligible, for every pound donated to http://www.justgiving.com/hilarytrek your name will be entered once into the draw. (i.e. £1 = one chance £5 = five chances etc.) After donating just email your name & email address or telephone number to pittam@supanet.com so that I can contact you if you should win. This is necessary, as justgiving are not allowed to pass on personal details. I can assure you that this information will not be used for any other purpose.

FIRST PRIZE is a handmade top quality bridle made to measure for your horse. It will be crafted from finest English leather to the highest standards by a qualified saddler who specialises in bespoke bridles.
These bridles are normally in excess of £120.

Other prizes include:- Thorowgood brushing boots, Puffa single sling & cool rider bags plus a selection of products from NikWax and FlyAway. There is also a Troxel Spirit helmet and Protective Exercise boots from NEW. Stud Muffins have also donated some prizes and Weatherbeeta have given a Dublin waistcoat. The date for the draw will be announced shortly but we hope it will be by the end of June and all these and others must be won!

Please feel free to email the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association or me if you would like to know more about the trek or the wonderful work that they do.

Thank you
Hilary Pittam
