Sherry
Adams Named USET Ambassador
|
Gladstone,
NJJuly 31, 2003The United States Equestrian Team (USET)
has announced the appointment of Sherry S. Adams of Plano, TX,
as its ambassador to the discipline of Reining.
An
owner and breeder of top reining horses, Adams is deeply involved
in the USETs lone Western riding discipline and is committed
to furthering reinings standing internationally.
I
am truly humbled by the invitation to serve as a USET Ambassador
and it is with great honor that I accept the position, said
Adams. It has been a lifelong calling from the heart that
brought me to the world of equestrian sports and I look forward
to the opportunity to serve the USET. I shall do my best to meet
the challenge of building support for the Team within the reining
community.
The
USET established its Ambassador Program in 2001. USET Ambassadors
are a select group of distinguished horse owners and equestrians
in several key cities across the country. They work closely with
the USET, serving as symbolic links between the Team and the equestrian
community. Ambassadors promote the interests of their particular
discipline and of the Team by assisting in organizing major annual
events as well as smaller benefits throughout the year.
USET
President Armand Leone, Jr., said, "USET Ambassadors provide
an essential link between the Team and the equestrian discipline
they represent. Sherrys success in breeding top reining
horses and impressive experience in the business world make her
an ideal person for the position.
Before
her involvement in the horse business, Adams spent more than 20
years working in all aspects of commercial real estate. Based
in Dallas, Texas, her work took her all around the world. She
holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University and has served
on the board of the International Trade Organization, the American
Heart Association and the Dallas Museum of Natural History, among
others.
The United States Equestrian Team is a non-profit organization
that selects, trains, equips and finances equestrians of the highest
possible standard to represent our country in major international
competition, including the Olympic Games and the World Championships.
To accomplish this, the USET seeks out and nurtures the development
of talented athletes - riders, drivers and horses - and provides
the support and guidance they need to help them attain their fullest
potential. For more information on the USET, please call (908)
