Placing second in the Grand Prix was two-time Olympic team Gold Medalist Monica Theodorescu of Germany while third place went to Lone Jorgensen of Denmark who finished seventh individually in last year's Sydney Olympic Games.

In addition to his two Olympic medals, Seidel has also won a team Silver medal at the 1995 Pan American Games and a team Gold medal at the 1995 Can-Am Dressage Challenge.
