Gladstone Antiques Show Raises Over $5,000 For American Red Cross Relief Fund

Gladstone, NJ-September 24, 2001-After careful consideration of Mayor Guiliani's recommendation, the Committee of the Gladstone Antiques Show, presented by The Glenmede Trust Company of New Jersey, decided to proceed with the annual United States Equestrian Team (USET) benefit, September 21 - 23. The Committee was also encouraged to proceed by dealers who volunteered to donate a percentage of their sales to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

In addition, a silent auction and sale of items donated by dealers raised $5,816.00, which will directly aid New Jersey families who have been affected by the World Trade Center tragedy.

Robert Standish, USET Executive Director, said, "We are so grateful for the outpouring of support that we witnessed this weekend to help the victims. Both the dealers and the public were extraordinarily generous. The USET is proud to have been able to make a contribution in this way." Additional items to benefit the Red Cross can be purchased at Ludlow & Ely Antiques, 151 Main Street, Peapack. Call for hours, (908) 781-6655. Children of volunteers at the show spent Saturday baking cookies and were able to raise over $250.00 for the Relief Fund.

The United States Equestrian Team is a non-profit organization that selects, trains, equips and finances equestrians of the highest possible standard to represent our country in major international competition, including the Olympic Games and the World Championships. To accomplish this, the USET seeks out and nurtures the development of talented athletes - riders, drivers and horses - and provides the support and guidance they need to help them attain their fullest potential. For more information on the USET, please call (908) 234-1251, or visit USET ONLINE at www.uset.org
