SEIB Leads The Search For Olympic Gold
Likely
future stars of showing, dressage, showjumping and eventing will
be named at this year's Horse of the Year Show, thanks to South
Essex Insurance Brokers.
The
company, which bases its national operation in Essex, is supporting
both the Search for a Star and British Equestrian Federation Young
Horse Evaluation series, both designed to discover horses capable
of achieving national and international fame.
The
South Essex Insurance Brokers/BEF Young Horse Evaluation Series
has been running countrywide qualification classes, from which 38
horses have been named to go forward to the HOYS. The series is
aiming to identify horses, and most importantly, bloodlines, on
which future Olympic gold medal wins can be based.
Search
for a Star, now in its seventh year, gives owners and riders their
chance to compete at this leading show, and also identifies horses
and ponies capable of national showing success. So far it has found
two HOYS champions and one reserve champion as well as several going
on to County show wins.
"The
country needs to identify future stars and bloodlines from which
they can be bred," said South Essex managing director Barry
Fehler. "We have proved with Search for a Star that it can
be done, and now we want to help the BEF in its search for horses
capable of winning the ultimate test at future Olympic Games."
