The
formula sport/spectacle knew to allure the public as of its first
edition in 2002, pushing the organizers to renew the operation.
The concept is simple. From 9.30 am to 17.30 pm of Friday at Sunday,
the arena will be reserved for the show jumping classes, where the
finest riding crops will compete of dexterity to gain the victory.
Then, as of 20.00 pm, from Thursday at Saturday, places at poetry,
and emotion, with the new spectacle of the "Chevaux d'Or".
A family appointment mixing dressage, numbers of acrobatics, work
in freedom or horse driving. An astonishing mixture which ignites
crowd! The public of the representation of Thursday will be able
moreover to meet the artists, a gold occasion... to understand the
secrets of these artists.
Side
sport, since years, Jumping of Caen attracts the best world riders.
Great innovation this year, the global prize money ! Indeed, the
Région Basse Normandie, candidate for the organization of
the World Equestrian Games of 2010, chose to double the prize money
of the Grand Prix, test headlight of jumping, which will be held
Sunday October 26th. A total amount of more than 120.000 €
will reward the exploits of the athletes on the ten classes of the
program, an additional asset to ensure the event an exceptional
set! A habit besides, since in 2002 more than 60 riders and 200
horses representing 21 nations clashed, with among them names as
prestigious as Whitaker, Philippaerts, Mathy, Voorn, Robert, Hécart,
Levallois, Delaveau, Rozier and well of others. Who will succeed
French rider Hubert Bourdy, winner in 2002 with Eve des Etisses,
in very disputed Grand Prix Caen Basse Normandie - Equi' Days Trophy
endowed for the first time of 61.000 € ?
The
menu of the "Chevaux d'Or" 2003 gathers ten acts all new.
Two sport-spectacle events will open the evenings of Friday and
Saturday with the high jump (also called 6 barres) and the price
of the champion (two riders face each other in parallel on identical
courses). Then, passage to an Iberian environment with tauromachic
horsemanship, presentation of Doma Vaquera listening to tango. Horse
driving thanks to the leader of the Haras Nationaux Louis Basty
and with the "Association d'attelage de l'Orne" who will
compete of skill on a course carried out beating drum. Dance and
horse riding learnedly orchestrated by Pascal Chemel. Heavy horses,
with the heavy stallions of the Haras National of Hennebont in assembled
quadriga, and the extraordinary complicity of Arnaud Gillette, former
member of Zingaro, and his Comtois Felous. Free horses under the
expert hand of Jean-François Pignon, the German artist Tony
Hocheger and his erudite horse, mixing comedy and dressage, and
