Hanley
Finishes Fifth In Lanaken Six Yr Old Class Final
|
MAYO'S
Cameron Hanley was best of the Irish in today's (Sunday) 6 yr-old
Final at Lanaken, with a fifth place on <Coco> a Paul Schockemohle
bay gelding. Hanley managed a clear in the first round but had a
single mistake in the second to earn him four faults.
Though
leading the field of 133 horses going into today's Final at Lanaken,
Cian O'Connor and the Irish-bred mare <Echo Beach> were unfortunate
enough to lower two poles in the second round of the competition,
and had to make do with a tenth place.
O'Connor
was fastest of the 35-strong field in both rounds, but the last
two fences down in the second round cost him dearly.
The
class was won by Holland's Mathijs Van Asten on <Cobra>.
