Leddy
Third In Zagreb Grand Prix
|
AN
AMATEUR rider just a few seasons ago, Dun Laoghaire's Glen Leddy
has justified his selection as an international rider at Zagreb,
Croatia, this week.
The
best of the Irish in today's (Sunday) Grand Prix at the Croatian
four-star event, Leddy travelled as an individual rider, and so
did not share in the glory of Friday's second place by the rookie
Irish team in the Nations Cup competition.
His
third place in the Zagreb Grand Prix on Michael Leddy's horse <Gold
Fingers> , however, established that the relatively inexperienced
Irish squad were firing on all cylinders.
Dave
Quigley, riding <Ashdale's Futuro> came fractions of a second
behind Leddy to take fourth today in the Grand Prix, while Nations
Cup star Ryan Crumley, from Derry, brought his horse <Baltimore>
into sixth.
