Madness
2003 at Hinton-in-the-Hedges Airfield, this year incorporates a
Sponsored Fun Ride on Saturday 13th September and Family Fun Day
on Sunday 14th.
The
Fun Ride on Saturday, organised by the ILPH (International League
for the Protection of Horses) and Central Horse News, will give
horse riders the unique opportunity, by kind permission of local
landowners, to ride either a route of 9 or 16 miles through some
beautiful south Northamptonshire and Oxfordshire countryside.
ILPH
Equine Ambassador, rescued horse, ILPH Bob the Cob will be officially
starting off the Ride from Walltree House Farm on the airfield at
9.10 am. Proceeds from the Ride will be divided between the ILPH
and a number of children's charities. Entries accepted on the field
- £10 for the shorter ride and £15 for the 16 mile ride.
Paramedics
and farrier on site all day, with an equine vet on standby in case
of emergencies. There will also be an equine car boot sale (pitches
available on the day) and a pig roast and all day breakfast stall.
Bob
will be doing the honours again the next day by opening Madness
2003 at 12 noon followed by a parachute display courtesy of Hinton
Skydiving Centre one of the event's major sponsors.
Entry
onto the Madness 2003 showground is by donation and visitors on
the day will be entertained by a Musical Ride, Dog Displays, Husky
Driving and horse displays including dressage, LaTrec, and carriage
driving. 6 horse welfare organisations will be participating and
exhibiting their rescued horses, ponies and donkeys..
For
the children there will be children's rides, a bouncy castle, etc.
and for grown ups there is a Paint Ball Target Shooting Range, Clay
Pigeon Shoot, lots of trade stands and a Dog Show.
