Cross
Country Riders Aim For Trophies
More
than 150 riders and horses will be at Wickstead Farm Equestrian
Centre, Highworth, near Swindon for this month's South Essex Insurance
Brokers/The British Horse Society Cross Country Championship.
More
than 50 qualifying events have been held throughout the country
for the event on September 27 and 28, which gives many British Horse
Society members their first taste of cross country competition.
The
championship is divided into novice and open competition with a
third class for pairs. Novice and pairs will be contested on Saturday
with the open class on Sunday.
South
Essex Insurance Brokers marketing manager Nicolina MacKenzie said:
"We are supporting this event because it encourages novice
riders as well as those more experienced in cross country riding.
"A
great part of our client base comes from the grass roots of the
equestrian world and we welcome this championship because it provides
them with something to aim at and enjoy."
All
finalists will get a South Essex Salver, while winners will take
home trophies and other prizes.
